No commitment. No pressure. Just 15 minutes to explore what's possible.

Is this for you?

You carry more than you should.
It shows up in your body.

You're high-achieving. Driven. Responsible for a lot. And somewhere between the meetings, the obligations, and the mental noise — your body has been quietly absorbing all of it. You've tried the gym. Maybe a class here and there. But nothing has touched the deeper layer of tension that lives in your shoulders, your chest, your mind at 2am.

This isn't another fitness program. This is a private, one-on-one practice built specifically for your body, your history, and your life — rooted in the ancient wisdom of Vedic yoga and held in a space of complete calm.

"The practice doesn't demand you become someone else. It simply returns you to who you already are."

This practice is for you if you:

  • Feel chronically stressed, anxious, or mentally overloaded despite being outwardly successful
  • Are tired of crowded studios where you're just another body in a class of thirty
  • Want to feel genuinely calm, clear, and at home in your body — not just temporarily sore
  • Are curious about the deeper philosophy of yoga — the breath, the mind, the spirit — not just the poses
  • Value privacy, quiet, and a practice that feels sacred rather than performative
  • Are a complete beginner, or someone returning after years away — and feel out of place in standard classes
What is Vedic Yoga?

Not just stretching.
An integrated science of living.

Most modern yoga classes teach one thing: physical postures. Vedic yoga — rooted in the oldest body of knowledge on earth — understands that the body, mind, and spirit are one system. True healing requires working with all three. This is what separates an ISH Yoga practice from anything you've experienced in a commercial studio.

I

Hatha & Asana

Classical postures taught with precise alignment, breathwork, and awareness — not performance. Each pose is chosen for your body and your goals, not from a generic sequence.

II

Pranayama

Ancient breathing practices that directly regulate the nervous system, reduce cortisol, improve focus, and shift your state within minutes. This alone changes everything.

III

Dhyana & Meditation

Guided meditative practices drawn from the classical Vedic tradition — not modern mindfulness trends — that cultivate stillness, clarity, and a quiet sense of presence.

IV

Vedantic Philosophy

An optional but transformative layer for students ready to explore the nature of mind, identity, and consciousness through the timeless teachings of Vedanta.

V

Yoga Nidra

The practice of yogic sleep — a deeply restorative state between waking and dreaming that heals the nervous system more effectively than hours of ordinary rest.

VI

Your Custom Path

Every session is designed specifically for you — your current state, your health history, your goals. No two students follow the same sequence. This is true personalization.

The Setting

A sanctuary, not a studio.
Right here in Queens.

Sessions are held in a private, serene home space in Forest Hills — or in a quiet, intimate backyard oasis. No mirrors. No strangers. No judgment. Just you, your practice, and undivided expert attention.

Private Home Environment

A carefully curated, calm space designed for one purpose: your practice. No lobby, no locker rooms, no distractions. You arrive, you settle, you begin.

Completely 1-on-1

Your instructor's full attention is on you — your alignment, your breath, your energy — for every single minute of your session. No multitasking, no divided attention.

Absolute Privacy

A safe space away from public eyes. Whether you're working through something physical, emotional, or deeply personal — this space holds it with complete discretion.

Backyard Oasis Sessions

When the weather allows, practice unfolds in a quiet, intimate backyard garden — a rare and grounding urban sanctuary that brings the practice closer to nature.

Fully Tailored Practice

Before your first session, a detailed consultation explores your health history, goals, lifestyle, and even emotional landscape — so every aspect of your practice serves you precisely.

Common questions

You may be wondering...

"I've never heard of Vedic yoga. Is this too advanced for me?"

Not at all. Vedic yoga simply means yoga in its complete, classical form — addressing body, breath, and mind together rather than just postures. It's actually more accessible than most modern styles, because it's adapted entirely to where you are right now. Absolute beginners are warmly welcomed. In fact, starting here means you learn the practice correctly from the very beginning — without habits to unlearn.

"I'm not flexible. I'm out of shape. I'm worried I can't do yoga."

This is the most common concern — and the most freeing misconception to release. Flexibility is not a prerequisite for yoga. It's a result. The same goes for fitness level, age, or body type. Because sessions are entirely 1-on-1, every practice is designed for your current physical reality, not some idealized version of what a yoga student should look like. Where you are right now is exactly the right place to begin.

"Is it safe to go to a private home or backyard for sessions?"

Completely understandable to ask. ISH Yoga operates with full transparency — you're welcome to connect via video call first, review the space before committing, and bring a friend to your first session if it helps you feel more comfortable. The space is a calm, professional, dedicated practice environment. Many students say arriving feels immediately like exhaling — it's that kind of space. Your comfort and safety are always the first priority.

"I've tried yoga before and it didn't do much for me."

Most people who say this tried a group class in a gym or a busy studio — which is a very different experience from a private, personalized practice. In a group class, the sequence is fixed, the attention is divided, and the instruction is necessarily generic. In a 1-on-1 Vedic session, every element — the sequence, the pace, the breathwork, the cues — is designed specifically for you. It is, quite simply, incomparable.

What students say

Transformation, in their
own words.

"

After six months of private sessions, I sleep deeply for the first time in years. My anxiety is manageable. My mind is actually quiet sometimes. I didn't believe that was possible for someone like me.

— M.R., Financial Analyst · Forest Hills

"

I was completely new to yoga and honestly intimidated. Lin made me feel so seen and unhurried. The backyard sessions in summer are something I look forward to all week. It's become sacred time.

— D.K., Teacher · Rego Park

"

This isn't yoga in any way I understood the word. It's something deeper — a practice that has changed how I carry myself, how I respond to stress, how I feel in my own body. I can't recommend it enough.

Authentic Lineage-Based Teaching

Integrated Vedic Yoga Approach

About Lin Pichardo

Rooted in tradition.
Present with you.

Lin Pichardo is the founder and sole instructor of ISH Yoga — a private practice rooted in the authentic, classical tradition of Vedic yoga. Her teaching integrates the classical paths of yoga: the physical (Hatha), the breathwork (Pranayama), the meditative (Dhyana), and the philosophical (Vedanta) — woven together into a living, breathing practice that meets each student exactly where they are.

What sets Lin's approach apart isn't just her lineage-based training — it's her gift for listening. Before a single pose is offered, a student is truly understood: their patterns, their history, their pain points, their potential. Teaching, for Lin, is an act of deep attention.

ISH Yoga is deliberately small and private — Lin works with a limited number of students at a time to ensure the depth of attention that real transformation requires.
